Websites your team can edit on its own.

We design and build websites for medium-sized and large companies: good-looking, fast and easy to run. The panel is made of blocks designed around your brand, so new pages get added without a developer.

01Approach

How we make a great website

This is how we work on every website, from a brochure site to a group's sites in several countries. We take small, sure steps and don't cut corners.

  1. Research and realistic goals

Every website starts with market and competitor research and workshops with your team. Together we set the site's goals, the image it should build and what should make your offer stand out. We move on to design only once we understand your needs and risks well.

  2. Wireframe first

We organise the information architecture: content and visitor paths are first laid out on a wireframe, with no colours or photos yet. Once the sketch is clear, the visual design has something solid to stand on.

  3. Clear at every stage

Before we start, you know how the work will be organised and what result to expect. We work in stages, to a schedule, and keep you posted on what we're doing, why and when.

  4. Your team can change everything

Texts, photos, sections and whole pages are changed in the panel. Every block has simple fields, so even someone who joined the team yesterday can handle them.

  5. The move, start to finish

We take care of the move: we bring content over from the old site, set up redirects from old addresses, sort out the domain and server, and check the Google reports after launch. That's how we moved over 4,000 posts, reports and documents to the new Grupa BEST website.

  6. Attention to detail

Icons, design, animations and code are all our own work, made from scratch for each site. The site looks like your brand and loads only the code it uses.

  7. No “that can't be done”

Animations, a product configurator, a link to your warehouse system, a portal with logins: we build things like these every day. If an idea would cost more than it brings in, we say so at the start and suggest a simpler way to the same goal.

  8. Speed

Photos, videos and animations are slimmed down to light formats, and scripts load only when they're needed. We measure speed before and after launch, on phones too and on a weak signal.

  9. Truly responsive

The phone and tablet versions get the same care as the desktop one. Every block has its own small-screen layout, arranged for thumbs.

  10. Accessibility as standard

Every site is designed and built to WCAG: contrast, heading order, keyboard and screen reader support. We think about accessibility in every block from the first sketch.

  11. Built to last, with a one-year guarantee

We secure the site and write the code so later updates go through without drama. For 12 months after launch we handle updates and backups kept off the server.

  12. No hidden costs

The quote doesn't grow during the project. If something we agreed on takes us longer than planned, that time is on us.

Our goal is websites you can almost forget about: they update, watch over and check themselves.

02Types of websites

What kind of website do you need?

These are the sites we build most often, though the list is open. For each one we say what we do and what you get, and show a similar project. When a site is built alongside a new brand or after a rebrand, we start with branding so the brand and the site speak with one voice.

Company website For customers, partners, job seekers and investors

What we do

Everyone who checks you out is looking for something different: customers want the offer, partners technical data, job seekers vacancies and investors reports. We design a separate path for each of them, and a panel where your team builds new pages on its own.

What you get

  • Website design and build
  • Page templates for services, products, posts and job ads
  • Forms connected to your systems
  • Team training and a year of care
Urtica A website for four audiences, in two languages More about company websites
Brochure website A few pages that grow with the company

What we do

A brochure site fits the company, its offer and contact details on a few pages. We build it from the same blocks as large company websites, so as the company grows, your team adds new pages itself, with no rebuild. That's how a brochure site grows into a full company website.

What you get

  • Design and build of a few pages
  • Blocks for building more
  • Contact form
  • Training and a guide
Landing page One page for a campaign, launch or promotion

What we do

We design a page that says the same as the ad and leads to one action: a purchase, a sign-up or an enquiry. Versions for different countries and shops are built from the same layout.

What you get

  • Landing page design and build
  • Versions for countries and retail chains
  • Animations specified for the developer
  • A form connected to your systems
Acer A landing page for the Aspire Vero laptop that kept coming back to us from more countries More about landing pages

Online shop Connected to your stock, easy to use on a phone

What we do

We design shops that know what's in the warehouse and can be used with one thumb on a phone. We build them on WooCommerce, or design them for the platform you already use.

What you get

  • Product pages that answer questions
  • Filters and product comparison
  • A home page for every day and for promotions
  • Connection to your warehouse and sales systems
Design Optyk An online shop for a chain of opticians, connected to the stores' stock More about online shops
Website with a configurator Customers build the product and send an enquiry

What we do

The customer picks the size, colour and extras, sees their version and sends an enquiry with the full configuration. The sales rep has everything in the first message, and one configurator shows hundreds of variants.

What you get

  • A configurator built on your product data
  • Enquiries with the full configuration, sent to sales
  • Models and files to download with each product
  • A panel for adding new products
Biurokoncept A catalogue of over a thousand pieces of furniture where customers configure their own desk More about websites with configurators
Website for a medical company Services, doctors, price lists and booking

What we do

We lay out the site so patients find the service, doctor and price on their own, then book an appointment straight away. Service descriptions follow a few templates and prices come from a single price list, so the clinic's team adds new services itself.

What you get

  • Templates for service and doctor pages
  • One price list for the whole site
  • Booking from every page
Intima Clinic 243 service pages built from three templates, with a shared price list More about projects for the medical sector
Website in several languages and countries Separate versions for each market, each with its own content

What we do

We add a language version for each market your customers and enquiries come from. Each has its own content, and addresses are set up so search engines show visitors the right language.

What you get

  • A separate version for each market
  • Shared blocks for all versions
  • Each version edited independently of the others
  • Addresses that make search engines show the right language

Partner portal For architects, distributors and trade partners

What we do

A portal is a separate site for the people who work with your products, with a knowledge base, downloads and filters by specification. When the team adds material, a project or an event, the portal puts it on the list and in the calendar by itself.

What you get

  • A knowledge base with filters
  • Downloads: catalogues, drawings and BIM models
  • A calendar of events and webinars
  • A panel where the team adds materials
Porta PRO Strefa Architekta, a zone for architects with door specifications, BIM files and a knowledge base
WCAG-compliant website Accessible with a screen reader or a keyboard alone

What we do

We design and fix websites so they meet WCAG at level AA. We check contrast, headings, forms, image descriptions, and keyboard and screen reader support, then make the fixes in the design and in the code.

What you get

  • A WCAG level AA compliance audit
  • A list of fixes for designers and developers
  • Fixes in the design and in the code
  • A check of the site before publishing

03Starting point

What isn't working on your website today?

These are the lines we hear most often. Under each one is what we do about it, and a project with a similar starting point.

“Even a typo on our site has to be fixed by a developer.”

A panel of blocks where your team makes the changes

We build the site from blocks designed around your brand. An editor picks a block, types the content and swaps the photo, while the layout, colours and typeface take care of themselves. A developer is needed only when the site has to learn something new.

What we do

  • Blocks with fields where the content changes and the layout stays put.
  • Page templates for building new pages.
  • Training and a guide for the people who will run the site.
“We change part of the site ourselves. The rest we're afraid to touch in case something breaks.”

The whole site in the panel, with limits in every block

The panel covers the whole site, from the first screen to the footer. Each block has its own fields and limits, so a stray click won't break the layout or recolour a button. The team can change the site with confidence.

What we do

  • A review of what can and can't be changed today.
  • Blocks for every type of content, each with a mobile version.
  • A preview of changes before publishing.

Porta PRO

Porta's Strefa Architekta runs on a custom theme with more than fifty blocks. Each has its own fields, a mobile version and language versions, and the Porta team builds new pages from them without a developer.

“The campaign starts in two weeks, and there's still no page for it.”

A landing page from ready-made blocks

A landing page has one job, and nothing distracts from it. When the site is built from blocks, new versions for campaigns and countries are put together from ready pieces, and the time goes into the headline and the visuals.

What we do

  • One page, one goal and one button.
  • Versions for countries, shops and campaigns from the same blocks.
  • A form connected to your inbox or sales system.

Acer

For Acer UK we designed a landing page for the Aspire Vero laptop, with animations that show its eco credentials in pictures, from the cardboard packaging to a seedling growing out of the screen. Then the Vero kept coming back to us from more countries.

“The freelancer who built our site has stopped answering the phone.”

Care with a clear scope, and access that stays with you

We take the site into our care with a clearly described scope: updates, backups kept off the server, and monitoring. All the access details, passwords and files stay with you. When a site is stuck halfway, we first check what can be saved.

What we do

  • A review of what's there: code, plugins, hosting and access.
  • Access sorted out so nothing depends on one person.
  • Ongoing care, and changes when they're needed.

Nowa Stomatologia

The clinic came to us with an old site and an unfinished new one started by another contractor. We built the site from scratch and kept developing it: an English version, a new layout and booking in two clicks came later.

See the project Nowa Stomatologia
“Our website looks as if it stopped a few years ago.”

Less on screen and one clear path

We start with what visitors are looking for and how you compare with your competitors. The first screen keeps a strong headline, the product and one clear way forward, and the rest is organised in the structure so nothing important gets lost.

What we do

  • A sitemap based on what people are looking for.
  • A new layout in your colours and typefaces.
  • Content moved over, with redirects from old addresses.

Dawtona Group

Dawtona had refreshed its labels, but the website was stuck with the old look. The new dawtona.pl has plenty of movement, but the real work is done by order: it's hard to get lost among 112 products.

“We have several websites, and each one looks different.”

One system for all the company's websites

We build one system: shared blocks, navigation and text styles. Each company or brand keeps its own accents and features, and every new site starts with a ready framework. The road to launch is shorter, and there's less code to maintain.

What we do

  • A review of all the sites and what they have in common.
  • Shared blocks and rules, with room for differences.
  • New sites on the same system, each with its own panel.

BEST Group

Six sites of Grupa BEST companies in five countries run on one system. They share a framework and the navigation that links the group, and differ in accent colour, photos and features. Each one has its own panel.

“We type the same products in by hand in several places.”

Data in one place, pulled in by the site

A product, price or stock level is entered once, in one place, and the site pulls it from the systems you already use. Less retyping means fewer mistakes and less work with every change to the offer.

What we do

  • A map of where product data lives today.
  • The site connected to your warehouse, sales or recruitment software.
  • One price list or catalogue that feeds the whole site.

Design Optyk

We wrote an app that reads stock levels from the warehouse software in Design Optyk's stores and passes them to the online shop. Six of the seven stores are connected, and orders, prices and new products also go through BaseLinker.

“Customers can't picture our product in their own version.”

A configurator that shows their version

A configurator shows the product the way the customer wants it: in their size, colour and extras. For made-to-order products, an enquiry with a ready configuration that goes to a sales rep often works better than a shopping cart.

What we do

  • A choice of the features customers ask about most.
  • A configurator on the product page, phones included.
  • An enquiry with the full configuration that goes to sales.

04Scale

Large sites that stay manageable

Websites of medium-sized and large companies have hundreds of pages, several languages and several teams changing them. So we start with a system: shared blocks, page templates and rules the panel enforces. At the design stage we already check that the blocks are enough to build every page that's needed.

05What you get

A website your team runs

You keep the website, the panel your team works in every day, and our care, which keeps everything running as well after a year as on day one. For further development you can come back to us at any time or take it on in-house.

A panel of blocks designed around your brand

An editor picks a section and types the content, and the block itself takes care of layout, colours and typography. Blocks have fields and limits, so every new page fits the rest and the team can publish it straight away.

Example Dawtona's marketing team builds new dawtona.pl pages from 33 ready blocks and changes the content itself. Dawtona Group

Language versions with their own editors

Each language has its own content and can have its own editors. Addresses and language tags are set up so search engines show visitors the right version.

Example Porta PRO runs in Polish and Romanian. We prepared the translations using Porta's glossary of terms, and the team in Romania edits its content independently of the Polish version. Porta PRO

Forms that reach the right people

An enquiry goes where someone will answer it: to a department, a mailing list or a sales system. The form knows which page it was sent from, so nobody has to ask.

Example At Nowa Stomatologia the booking button sits in the header, next to every specialist and in the footer, and the clinic decides in the panel whether a profile leads to a calendar or a form. Nowa Stomatologia

A website that doesn't keep you waiting

What's visible on the first screen loads first, and videos and animations further down load only when the visitor reaches them. We measure speed before and after launch, on phones too.

Example We converted the animated backgrounds on pokket.pl into lighter files, and the site stayed just as loud and colourful. Pokket

Accessibility built into the design

Contrast, heading order, keyboard and screen reader support: we think about accessibility from the wireframe onwards and keep an eye on it in the code of every block. So the site works without an overlay in the corner with a button that enlarges text and changes colours.

Care that continues after launch

For 12 months after launch we handle updates and backups kept off the server, and make sure the site is running. If you'd rather have hosting in one pair of hands, we'll buy a VPS or dedicated server on your behalf and manage it.

Example We look after Grupa BEST's sites in five countries on an ongoing basis. BEST Group

Training and a guide to come back to

After launch we train the team to work in the panel and leave a guide or a recording. It's especially useful for new people taking over the site from someone else.

Example After CMS training, the Acer UK team got a guide for new starters from us, and can add materials, pages and filters to the portal on its own. Acer

09Questions

Questions we hear most

What do you build websites with?

We choose the technology to suit the team that will edit the site. Most often that's WordPress with our own theme and no ready-made templates, and WooCommerce for shops.

Can we change the content ourselves after launch?

Yes, that's the whole point. The panel is built from blocks with fields, so changing content needs neither a developer nor a designer. After launch we train the team and leave a guide.

Will we lose our Google rankings after the redesign?

To reduce that risk, we move the content over and set up redirects from old addresses. We plan the launch together with the people who handle your SEO, then check the Google reports afterwards and fix whatever needs fixing.

Who prepares the content?

We can move and tidy up what you have, or write the missing texts. If you write the content yourselves, you get a sheet with fields for each page template, so it's clear what to write and where before anything goes on the site.

Who takes care of hosting and the domain?

We can tidy up what you have with your current providers. If you'd rather have it all in one pair of hands, we'll buy a VPS or dedicated server on your behalf and manage it. Then we take responsibility for the providers.

What happens after the site goes live?

For 12 months after launch we handle updates and backups kept off the server. After that we can keep looking after the site and developing it with you.

How long does a website take?

It depends on the size of the site and the number of templates and languages. We agree the schedule at the start, stick to it and keep you posted on where the work stands. Grupa Dawtona wrote to us about the PetCuisine website: “The whole project was delivered on the agreed schedule and budget, which we particularly appreciate.”

Will you take over a website someone else built?

Yes. First we check the code, plugins, hosting and access, then tell you what can stay and what needs fixing. If the foundations are good, we develop the site in stages, building on what's already there.

Can you move our site from WordPress to a static site?

Yes, if its content changes rarely. We move it to Astro, meaning ready HTML files with no PHP, plugins or database, while the design, content and addresses stay. If your team publishes something every week and wants to do it in a panel, it's better to stay with WordPress. More on the Moving from WordPress to Astro page.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes, usually before the first workshop.

Can you also build a portal or a panel with logins?

Yes. We design and build partner portals, client panels and tools for teams as web apps.
