“Our website hasn't kept up with how the company works today.”

A new website? First, let's check whether you need one

A website that can't keep up with the company has a cost: sales reps send PDFs, marketing waits for a developer and customers can't find the offer. But a new website isn't always the answer. First we check what really isn't working. Sometimes tidying up the content and structure is enough. If it needs building from scratch, we'll say so and explain why.

01Situation

Sound familiar?

  • New products and services don't fit in the old menu.

  • Sales reps send customers PDFs instead of links to the website.

  • Every change needs a developer or risks breaking something.

  • The site is slow, works poorly on phones and doesn't meet accessibility requirements.

  • The language versions no longer match in content.

02Risks

Where it usually goes wrong

  1. The project starts with the look, before anyone checks what customers are looking for. The site looks good but doesn't sell.

  2. Content is added at the end, so the finished design doesn't fit the real texts.

  3. A site built on an off-the-shelf theme with dozens of plugins is hard to maintain and secure.

03Process

How we run it

We run every project in the same order: business first, design second. How we work See the results of our work Our values

  1. Diagnosis: analytics, talks with sales and customer service, a review of content and technology.

  2. Information architecture and wireframe: what, for whom and in what order.

  3. Content: written with you or with a copywriter, before the visual design.

  4. Design and development: a custom design, an editing panel set up for your team, integrations.

  5. Testing, training and care: performance, accessibility, security, and for 12 months after launch, updates and backups.

06FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you always build a website from scratch?

No. If the foundations are good, we suggest changes in stages.

Will we lose our Google rankings?

We move the content and set up redirects from the old addresses to limit that risk.

What technology do you build on?

We choose it to suit the team that will edit the site. Most often it's WordPress with our own theme, without off-the-shelf templates.

Other challenges

01A new brand, from the name to the first materials

“We're launching a new brand and want to get it right from the start.”

We often hear: “All we need to start is a logo.” A logo matters, but before it comes deciding who you're talking to, what you're called, how you look and what customers get after the first contact. We put it all together from the start, because fixing it once the company has grown costs far more.

02A new logo is the smallest part of a rebrand

“We need a rebrand, but a new logo is just the beginning.”

Designing a new logo takes a few weeks. The real work starts afterwards: the website, offers, presentations, packaging, signage, trade fairs and documents in every department. If nobody plans it, the old brand lives alongside the new one for years. That's why we plan and run the rebrand to the end, rollout included.

03Your designer shouldn't be your sales bottleneck

“Every offer and presentation goes through the designer.”

In many companies it looks the same. The brandbook sits in a folder, and every presentation and offer waits in the queue for one designer. Or it doesn't wait and gets made however someone sees fit. First we tidy up what's there. Then we build templates and a library that everyone in marketing and sales can use.

05Who has access to your domain?

“We have several websites, hosting accounts and providers. Nobody has the full picture.”

Often nobody in the company can answer straight away. Websites, domains, mailboxes, analytics and logins have built up over the years, with different providers and in different people's names, often on private email addresses. It all works until something expires or someone breaks in. We take stock of everything and hand control of it back to the company.

06A design in a PDF doesn't change anything yet

“We're looking for a partner who will see implementation through, not just hand over a design.”

The hardest work starts after the design is approved: development, printing, production, integrations and several suppliers who need to work together. This is often where clients are left alone with the files. We stay until the end and take responsibility for the result, suppliers included.

07First we understand your product, then we design

“Our product is technical or regulated. It has to be understood first.”

Cell therapies, measuring equipment, liquid cooling, debt claims. When an agency doesn't understand this, it simplifies the message so much that your experts stop believing in their own communication. That's why we start with talks with experts, documentation and a visit to your site. We design the look once we understand the product.
