An online shop connected to the rest of the company.

We design shops that know what's in the warehouse and are easy to use with a thumb on a phone. We build them on WooCommerce or design them for the platform you already use.

01Starting point

What isn't working in your shop today?

These are the four lines we hear most often. Under each is what we do about it, and a project that started from a similar place.

“Our online shop runs separately from our stores and doesn't know what's on the shelves.”

A shop connected to the warehouse and stores

Stock levels, prices and orders shouldn't live in two places. We connect the shop to the inventory software and sales systems, and for products available only in store, customers see which store has them.

What we do

  • A map of where stock, prices and orders live today.
  • The shop connected to the inventory software, BaseLinker and the courier.
  • A product page showing availability in stores.

A frames product page in the Design Optyk shop design, with a list of stores that have the model.

Design Optyk

We wrote an app that reads stock levels from the inventory software in Design Optyk stores and passes them to the shop. An item sold online is held in the store for two of its opening hours, and a single switch in the panel turns the cart into “Ask about this product”, with a list of stores that have the model.

“Our customers buy on their phones, but our shop is only easy to use on a computer.”

A shop designed from the product page on a phone

We start with the view that matters most on a phone, usually the product page. Photos scroll sideways, the buy button is always within thumb's reach, and specifications wait in expandable sections.

What we do

  • A design that starts with the product page on a phone, then covers the rest of the shop.
  • States that are easy to forget: an unavailable product, the view after adding to cart, lists with two, three and four products per row.
  • Motion that can be built without heavy effects.

Overmax

Most Overmax customers browse the shop on their phones, and the model page is the view that matters most to them. So we started the RC car shop design with the mobile page for the X-Hooligan. The shop was built by the Overmax team.

“Our shop runs on an off-the-shelf platform and we don't want to change it.”

A design for the platform you use

Not every shop needs moving. We design the look and layout for the platform you already sell on, and your team or contractor builds it from our files. From the start we make sure everything can actually be built on that platform.

What we do

  • A review of what the platform lets you change.
  • Designs of the home page, product list and product page for desktop and mobile.
  • Files for the implementation team: icons, photos and graphics for the template.

Novicare

We designed the Novicare24 shop for desktop and mobile, putting funding from Polish public bodies (NFZ, PFRON and MOPS) front and centre. The client's team built the shop on the Shoper platform, and we prepared graphics for the template.

Moving products together with their addresses

We move products from the old shop with their descriptions, categories and photos, tidying them up along the way. Every old product address redirects to the new one, and we plan the launch with the people who run your SEO.

What we do

  • An inventory of the old shop's products, categories and addresses.
  • Product data moved and made consistent.
  • Redirects and Google reports checked after launch.

Biurokoncept

Biurokoncept's old shop ran on Redcart. We moved the products, filled in the gaps and made the data consistent, and every old product address now leads to the new one. We prepared the launch together with the client's SEO agency.

02What you get

A shop your team runs on its own

A shop means daily work: new products, promotions and orders. We design it so customers find a product quickly, and your team adds one just as quickly.

A product page that answers questions

Photos, variants, availability and specifications appear in the order customers ask about them. We test variant selection on the real number of colours and sizes, and for made-to-order products the cart can turn into an enquiry.

Example For the Design Optyk shop we compared two ways of choosing a colour in Figma, with four and with twelve variants. Circles won. Design Optyk

A comparison that shows the differences

Customers compare products to see how they differ. So one switch hides the identical rows, and the differences stay on top.

Example In the Overmax shop design, the comparison has a switch that hides all identical specifications. Overmax

Filters that actually filter

A filter only works when products have their attributes filled in. We agree with your team what customers choose by and tidy up the product data, using AI for a large catalogue and checking every result by hand.

Example We automated variant colour matching and metadata with AI and checked every result by hand. That's how over 500 frames got described, and the nine filters agreed with the client finally have something to work with. Design Optyk

A home page for everyday and for promotions

A shop's home page has two states: an ordinary day and a promotion. We design both from the start, so a promo banner doesn't break the layout and the shop looks like the brand on the packaging.

Example The home page in the Zippy Tail shop design has two versions: tiles with a carousel for everyday and one large banner during promotions. The shop uses the same colours, animals and labels as the packaging. Zippy Tail

Shops we've designed

We designed and built the Design Optyk shop. For the others we did the UX/UI design, and the shop was built by the client's team or another contractor.

05Questions

Questions about online shops

Which platform will you build the shop on?

We build shops on WooCommerce, which runs on WordPress, so the shop and the rest of the site share one panel. If you already sell on another platform, such as Shoper, we design the shop for it and your team builds it.

Will the shop connect to our warehouse and courier?

Yes. The Design Optyk shop is connected to the inventory software in its stores, to BaseLinker and to InPost. We start with a list of the systems you use and check what can be connected without retyping data.

Who will add the products?

At launch we can move products from the old shop and tidy them up, as we did for Biurokoncept. After that your team adds products in the panel, and for a large catalogue we can fill in descriptions and attributes with AI, checking every result.

Won't we lose customers from Google after changing the shop?

We move the content and redirect old product addresses to new ones to limit that risk. For Design Optyk we first set up redirects based on the sitemap, then fine-tuned them a week later using a Google report.

What if customers need to ask about a product first?

For made-to-order or individually priced products, the cart can turn into an enquiry that goes to a sales rep. That's how a website with a configurator works, for example at Biurokoncept.

Can you do the design only, without the build?

Yes. The Overmax shop design was built by the client's team, and Novicare24 by the client's team on Shoper. They get the desktop and mobile design from us, plus files: icons, photos and graphics.

06Other types of websites

What other websites do you build?

Website types often overlap: a company website gains a shop or a configurator, and a campaign landing page is built from the blocks of a site that's already live.
